Our New Series

Luke - how to be a ChristianLuke’s Gospel is very challenging in its practicality, and it was written to not only to tell the reader about Jesus but also to show us how to be Christians. “Go and do likewise” is a key phrase, unique to Luke out of the four gospels. In doing so, we step into the new day which has dawned through Christ.  Join us as we look through Luke on Sunday mornings at 10.30, and read the gospel for yourself during the rest of the week.

Ways to Help Refugees

refugeesThere are many ways you can help towards alleviating the current refugee crisis. Here are some of them:
1. You Can Pray:   (a) for a swift, compassionate and more effective response to the refugee crisis in Europe;  (b) that those fleeing war and persecution will find safe havens where they can begin to put the traumas they have experienced behind them;  (c) for solutions to the root causes driving people to flee – the conflicts, poverty and inequality; (d) for organisations in both Europe and the Middle East to reach those in greatest need.

2. You can Provide:  by giving financial support through an agency like TEAR Fund,  Medecins San Frontieres, Refugee Council, or Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS).

3.  You can Pitch In:  by giving food and clothing direct to those stranded in Calais via Calais Action drop-off point in Brixton (follow the link to check out what they need & when the next deadline is; email Kate Coggins with “Calais” in the subject line to find out where to deliver to.

4.  You can Participate:  in Holy Trinity’s Oxjam Event on 24th October, with Rachel Huggins, Richard Dormandy, and a range of other acts and stalls.  Details to come.

5.  You can Protest: march on Downing Street on 12th September, starting from Marble Arch at noon, with Solidarity with Refugees.
